RADICAL IDEOCALLIGRAPHS
Radical ideocalligraphs are composed of a limited number of strokes, any of which can be emphasized or elided with other strokes to modify the radical ideocalligraph's tone, character or fundamental meaning.


COMPOSITE IDEOCALLIGRAPHS
Each composite ideocalligraph has a controlling radical ideocalligraph, or symbol. The composite ideocalligraph's primary meaning may be qualified by the one or more dependent radicals of which it is composed.

 

 

 

 

 

Example of radical ideocalligraphs use:

woman; eye; sun; mountain;

Example of composite ideocalligraphs use:

catch; poem; in mountain; in wind; carry poem; from; mountain; to city
